front brakes
« on: June 16, 2019, 17:16:33 »
My bike has been laid up for a few months, come to use it and problem
abs light is on and front brake hardly works
Now I was told last year the pistons were sticking

was going to take calipers off and try to move pistons, rather than by a rebuild kit

I am selling the bike, once it is fixed

ABS light stays on until the bike moves, 4/5 mph. If it stays on after there's a problem, maybe with the sensors??

Are you mechanically minded enough to attempt the calipers? (no disrespect intended). They are rather important. If they are stuck you'll need to replace seals anyway plus clean up the pistons. Empty the reservoir and use new brake fluid.  :icon_wink:
So how's it going so far then?

You may want to google doctor Vstrom youtube videos for information. There is a link to one on the front brake.
