Bet they still forget the 21 inch front wheel and proper ground clearance.

grrrr.. can't see article behind the great firewall of China. At least v-strom.co.uk works. Can anyone PM the photos?

I'm curious as to the engine. Zuki have filed patents on VVT and a more compact 1L V-twin.

Looks like a new screen and headlight and not much more. But the engine looks like it has been modified - check the black box attachment above the clutch case.

I liked the new homeage to the Katana model as it was very similar in design, 4 cylinder and very similarly styled etc...

This new "DR Big" I think is clearly Suzuki putting improved profits ahead of paying correct homeage to a previous model - it needs to be a big single or else they have missed the point of it...but unfortunately they do that too often these days - particularly with quality... :dl_soapbox:

Reading back on the v-strom Variable valve Timing patents, that curious 'black box' above the magneto case could be VVT. Sits exactly where I'd expect it.

Rekon this is just the new VVT Vstrom not the DR-BIG.

One thing I am curious about - why do they try to camoflage prototype bikes? They might as well write 'prototype' in large letters on the side.

I rode a Honda VFR800 VTEC when they first came out and was singularly unimpressed with it, feeling that they'd totally spoilt a very good bike (the VFR800 Fi). Suzuki's latest GSXR1000 has VVT and by all accounts benefits from much better low and mid range torque from having it. Quite what the benefit on a big V twin remains to be seen as they are not known for lacking low end torque in the first place. So it will be interesting to see whether it really does benefit or is just a marketing exercise. The other downside to Honda's VFR800 VTEC are the servicing costs. Whether this will also be the case on the Suzuki remains to be seen.
