2012 L2 650 Tyres and heated grips.
« on: February 20, 2019, 15:52:14 »
Hello

After using a F800GS in NZ in January, I would like to know the opinion of this group as to the best heated grips to fit, and the use of Michelin Anakee 3 tyres.

I was very impressed with the Anakee tyres on the F800GS, and the standard fitment of the heated grips eased the 'white finger' problem in my right hand.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

Great tyres, I'm on my second set.  :thumb:
So how's it going so far then?

Oxford heated grips and anakee 3 are good tyres, lots of choice in tyres though, Road 5 trail and metz roadtec 01 are good choices too.

Oxford heated grips and Suzuki handguards.
I had Anakee tyres on my BMW F700GS, very good tyres.

Oxford Grips because in the past I have been able to get spare parts for them. They do different types so make sure you get the right ones for your bike.
This doesn't last forever, so do it while you can.

Oxford grips. Easy to fit and the lastest ones can wire straight to the battary. They switch off automatically if left on. Way better than Suzuki ones and cheaper.
Anakee 3's are good, although I am getting some wierd wear patterns on the my front one.

Hi there.
I have both in my Glee.
The Oxford Adventure grips really worth the money. In combination with the Suzuki handguards temperatures around and below zero Celsius aren't a problem.

With 5000m on the tyres, I am overall happy. Although I have only done on road miles.
This winter I have found difficulties to warm up the from tyre, with a loss of confidence in the front grip, but honestly I am not sure how much of this is down to my own inexperience.

Cheers

Hi Lads and Ladesses

Thanks for all of your inputs, and the Oxford grips arrived this morning, and am still awaiting delivery of the Anakee tyres, which should be here next week.

Thanks again for your replies.
