Found a set of the 10 spoked black ally wheels on eBay for £350 the pair!

Considered powder coating the rims and the spokes but realised that in doing so the spokes wouldn't be adjustable if they needed tweaking.

Found a bloke who can plastidip them for me at £50 each which is probably my best option and cheapest.

The cast wheels are not that easy to clean either to be honest!

for a full wheel clean I take the whole wheel off, carry them indoors and clean them in my bathtub -  proper job!!!!!
If it has two wheels.. I'll ride it.

I realise cast wheels can still be awkward to clean but they're a breeze compared to keeping these spoked bastards clean!

That and the fact my wife moans like a bastard every time I go to do anything on the bike

Well, how about a cheap er fix?

Buy yourself a Karcher  K4 off ebay, used approx £40+
1 ltr muck off or simular in pump sray bottle.

10 minuets the wheel cleaning job is done.

To keep the spokes from rusting I'd say it'll take at least 5-10minutes per spoke with a kitchen scouring pad then ACF50 which poses the next problem of applying using a brush so you don't spray the brakes!

Either way you'll all be happy to hear the end of it now, I've bought a pair of the 10 spokes cast wheels from a breakers yard for £350. Good nick, well balanced, no damage so pretty happy.

I'll be selling the XT rims on here soon, obviously my add will say how amazing they are!

Thanks blokes

Good job well done. Those wheels look much more practical.
This doesn't last forever, so do it while you can.
