Forgive me father, for I have sinned

Approx 7 years ago I decided to stray from the fold and venture into new territory.  I sold my Vee and bought a GSX1400 and then a few years later a Triumph explorer.  My time with the explorer is coming to and end and I am, as well as forgiveness, seeking guidance on the latest offering from Suzuki.

My interest currently resides with the 1000gta which ticks all the boxes for me, especially the price which considering reasonable luggage is included seems a pretty good offer.  I do have some reservations though, mainly from the pillion perspective.  No pun intended but most of my rides are with the misses and I am curious to find out 2 things
1.  Do the aluminium panniers encroach on the pillions legs in anyway
2.  Is the top box in a good position, I.e. not too far forward or back
3.  Any issues with adding extra electrical requirements, I.e. GPS and heated clothing mainly

I will be arranging a test ride soon and to get a better perspective I am hoping they will fit the panniers and top box but until then any advice is welcome.

Well, not quite true as FR has had to show one or two the door over the years for outrageous behaviour, but never for having a wandering eye...

Using your old log in indicates that just like rest of us in Hotel California you never actually left.
This doesn't last forever, so do it while you can.

Hello again Jockflob (from Kelso way?) :thumb:   I added a bit to your heading if you don't mind, to  get more attention for the bike questions you have asked
