I have had a screw through the tread of a nearly new tyre on the rear of my Pan.As it had Tyreseal in it,I took the screw out and rode home,no problems at all,the tyre ran to the end of its life.On the other hand,on the way to Cornwall in the spring of 2016,I felt something was not right(bike had a couple of small shakes on the motorway).Pulled up and the rear tyre was deflated and came off the rims as I stopped). This time it was a simply a hole, the tyre had slowly deflated and I think I was lucky. The moral of the story is,use tyre sealants, they do work .BTW this tyre had only done 500 mls. and it did not have tyre sealant in it.I had to be recovered and have a new tyre fitted on a Saturday afternoon.Luckily enough the recovery firm knew the Exeter area well and I was on my way after a couple of hours.
