What does Google want?
« on: November 08, 2018, 08:21:17 »
A regular message on my phone is from Google. It seems to be asking for acces to my "contacts".  What is that about and is there a good reason to allow it?

If you have a smart phone with Android, applications run by Google sometimes require access to other things on your phone in order to supposedly make things easier .
For example , you can ask Google to call a contact so you don't have enough to find them in the phone yourself .

Everything that Google, Facebook and all the other digital parasites ask for, I refuse for no other reason than they want to know. Pissed off with Google wanting to know my location so they can blitz me with shite local adverts.

Even with your location switched off the phone still let's Android/Google know where you are.

Brockett, they want to find out who you know. They know this already, as you will be a contact in other people's phonebook, but by allowing them access they can verify the connection. It's all rather invasive in my opinion.
