Instrument facia removal on latest model 650
« on: October 23, 2018, 22:30:45 »
Would anyone know how to remove the instrument facia plate on a 2018 650. I am trying to adjust the dip beam headlamp aim and can't quite get to the adjuster !! There are four button locks that can be removed, this didn't appear to make much difference, not wanting to force anything and have broken bits of plastic. Any advice welcome.

Thanks

I have a theory that designers are making this stuff nowadays in such a way that you have to go to dealers to get things adjusted/repaired. sorry I can't be of any help.

Hi

Stupid question maybe. But have you removed the side panels as per the manual? Looks like there are two screws hidden under them.

Have to agree on making things more complex!!

Thanks for the tip on re side panels I'll check that out. I need to adjust my dip beam height and as I'm happy with the rear susp height I need to reach the awkward adjuster just behind the panel. You can get a spanner on it and turn it 1mm at a time, I'd rather be able to turn it properly.

If it's the same as the DL1000. remove the 4 pin/clip thingies, 2 bolts. Then gentley ease the joint apart with a thin flat bladed screw driver.
