Hello All,

A while ago I posted that I had a recurring problem with the instrument display going blank and losing my headlights and turn lights. Info on here pointed to the electrical connector behind the left hand fairing which was the case. I cleaned the connector and all was well. The problem has returned, I've cleaned the connector using a tiny flat blade but am wondering if there is a permanent fix.

Cheers,

Dicky

Dicky,

On older V-Strom's where the connectors are past saving, I have cut them out and inline soldered and heat shrunk the wires. That may not be everyone's idea of a proper solution but assuming your soldering is okay then it should be permanent.

You could replace the connector or pins with the correct tools  :thumb:

Thank you Fat Rat. I think I'll try and get the affected pin out and follow your suggestion and just solder the one wire when I feel brave enough. I'm a bit cack handed at the best of times.

Cheers,
