Glee low rpm assist
« on: October 02, 2018, 08:35:31 »
I have been considering a possible model upgrade or to add to my existing bikes. I'm unable to locate information wrt the upgrades per various model Glee on Wiki, similar to the upgrades listed on Wiki for the earlier Wee K4 onward.
For more background information on the upgrades to the various model Glee, from which model Glee (DL650 L2 - L8) did the "low rpm assist" come out as a standard feature? Any other features that I should consider when look for a Glee?
Here is what I have found so far:
1) new instrument cluster and dash.
2) An easy-to-read analog tachometer is accompanied by an LCD screen that shows road speed, trip length, overall miles traveled, fuel level, gear position, fuel consumed (along with average fuel economy) and ambient temperature.
3) A “Road Freeze” warning light.
4) High-speed 32-bit ECU that controls Suzuki Dual Throttle Valve (SDTV) system 39mm throttle bodies handle fueling. Suzuki claims 10-percent better fuel economy
5) Suzuki claims the 2012 V-Strom weighs 13 pounds less than the current model
6) Suspension adjustments are limited to spring preload on the conventional fork, and preload and rebound damping on the shock - non adjustable front shocks

hello Gert, I think the 'Low RPM assist' came out with L7 on, as did 'Suzuki Easy Start' - at least that's what the brochure says. Also, 'Suzuki traction control' (DL650) [the DL1000 L7 on gets more advanced/complex 'motion track traction control]

Thanks for the info, Gassoon. If I remember correctly, I read on the Stromtrooper site a while back, that the "low rpm assist" was a feature on the L4 Vee2. I guess that I half expected the Glee to start including a similar feature, around the same year. Looks like I was expecting too much. The L7 and L8 are still too pricey, for a nice to have. I think I'll buy a little Yamaha 2 stroke scooter, until the L7 or L8 used prices are more reasonable.
