« on: March 24, 2018, 15:51:40 »
Hi there has anyone tried to fit the Givi sr3105  plate kit on a DL1000XT 2018 model? The givi website sells it as compatible with this bike model but the bracket unded the mudguard cannot fit. Help needed

Not fitted one, but am looking at the exploded diagram. Which bracket, No. 4? In what way will it not fit? Someone will have come across this before, I'm sure.

SR3105 is listed for 14-16.
SR3112 is for the 17> models.

If yours as a 2018 bike you need the SR3112.
One of my customers tried using the SR3105 from his previos 2015 bike on their new 2017 bike. It didn't fit.

I did fit it on mine. Removed it from 2014 I've sold and installed it on new model. Took some time but it fitted. Here is how I've done it, the text I'm pasting from another forum:
"...- Givi Top Box base SR3105 gave me major issues. The cross-bracket that goes into the subframe (just bellow the seat) is too long. Spent hours bending it, making "waves" on it to get it shorter then had to grind a lot of it to fit. After it fitted, the tubes that go from that bracket to bellow the rear rack had incorrect shape. I had to apply a lot of pressure on them to make them align with the holes bellow the rack. I guess they are under a lot of stress now. I don't like it but will keep 'em that way until I find better solution. Givi has new kit, SR3112 for '18 model. So, I was the one to blame..."

Mr_diver you're correct! It is the wrong kit. I have sent the sr3105 back and ordered the sr3112. I have ordered the parts from sportbikeshop which advestises it for 14-18 model but on the givi website for the '18 model is listing the sr3112, so I'll give it a go.
The thing is being my bike the GT model has also the Suzuki panniers fitted which could interfere with the sr3112 brakets. Once arrived and tested I'll post the result.

I don't know which top box you were going for but I know the "givi" Suzuki 55ltr (Givi Maxima 55) box will not fit with the Suzuki Panniers.

Make sure you try the box to the bike with the panniers on before you hand over the cash.
Also make sure you can remove the panniers with the top box on.

I'm not sure which bit stops you using the 55ltr box with the panniers.

It may be the mounting kit, it may be the M8/M8b givi plate or just the wide load box

Hello everybody.  :fix:
Update on the back box kit. The correct fitting kit for the 2017 on model is the SR3112. 650 and 1000 share the same frame so fits both.
The only issue is that the bolt that goes throught the subframe is too short so you will need to source a longer bolt from the one supplied on the sr3112, plus you will need to buy the plate for you back box separately. I added the Givi M7 plate with the V47 Givi back box which gives a lot more room than the standard Suzuki 25lt box.
Mr Diver the box does not interfere with the panniers and are easy to remove. Maybe it depends how far forward the plate is fitted ending nearer the seat.

cold it must be just the Givi M8 plate that stop you using the oem panniers then.

Thanks for the info  :thumb:
