Engine bolts?
« on: January 12, 2018, 21:30:15 »
Hi all, sent my crash bars away for powder coating and thinking of renewing the four bolts that they are fastened with. As they also fasten the engine hanger bracket?? I was wondering if they are anything special?
Can I change them for stainless?
What torque setting?
These are the bolts I'm talkin' about.
Thanks for the help.  :thumb:

It would probably be fine but SS is not as strong as carbon steel. You’ll need the stronger of the SS alloys rather than a prettier type. Proper torque would be 23Nm.
Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. 2012 DL650A outlasted me.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 (K2-L2) DL1000s. Veek=2014+ (L4+) DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 (K4-L1) DL650s. Glee = 2012+ (L2+) DL650s
