I prefer the nick names and often I have customers refer to their bikes as such . It's rather simple .

Looks like Pee-wee is in the running , good choice .  :thumb: can't help but wonder though .. what if a kiwi bought one ..?  :haha:

What if they bring out a Triple and we have to call it a Tree?

The real answer of course is that Suzuki haven't made a V-Strom since 2011 anyway  :stirpot:

Sideways on, it does look a bit strange around the headlight. Reviews indicate a gutless motor and no redeeming features. Typical of Suzuki 'parts bin' approach. Not a patch on the 300 Versys and years behind the 390 KTM.
Which is a pity.

Why the F... made Suzuki place a parallel twin (PT) into their DL250 and then give it a V-Strom badge? Sad that Suzuki didn't have a 250cc V motor for the V-Strom, but even a certain Chinese bike company came up with a 250cc in a V format. Why not buy it from them, as they do with a lot of other / Chinese made spare parts?
No, the DL250 parallel twin (PT) is basically a 1/4 Veek engine capacity @ 1/2 the looks of the Veek and @ 2/3 of the size....

Yup. And Honda managed a 125 v-twin once.

Naming conventions are strange...
Where did the term parallel twin come from... We don't refer to IL4's are parallel 4's do we.
.. And technically they aren't IL4's either, they are transverse 4s.
So the 250 is actually a transverse twin, so it's a TT strom.

One on my works' ones will be in that figure as one was just 'Built' and put on a stage with the others and the Red one got registered as a demo.

Rich:- a "Parallel Twin" because the cylinders are 'parallel' , next to each other. In the British twins of old the pistons went up and down together so that even the pistons and cranks were parallel although one was on the power stoke and other one was on the exhaust stroke (not exactly but you get the drift). The actual layout of the cylinders is not as important as the relative position of the crankpins so that engines such as the Yamaha TDM fire exactly like a V engine. Even V engines are not all the same.  Years ago when air-cooled the benefit of a V engine was cooling and it's narrow shape, however the disbenefit was the need for an elongated chasssis.

The common Japanese four cyclinder engine is in fact referred to as an "inline four" across the frame. Unlike the Henderson which was an in line engine, in line with the frame.

Searching on Google has produced a 250cc V-Strom with a V-twin engine!!
https://www.about-china-atvs.com/zongshen-V-Strom.html.  A top speed of 120 km/h is listed in the specs...  Almost too fast use in England and all their speed cameras plus country lanes :stirpot:
Guess there is a slim chance that Suzuki could wake up and smell the roses.... yeh if pigs could fly, maybe one day.

Thanks for the correction. If that does not work, Google Zongshen V-Strom 250cc
