Throttle sticking on vee
« on: July 30, 2017, 16:59:31 »
I've a k8 vee with 8k on the clock.  I've adjusted the slack in the throttle exactly as the manual but the grip sticks when on full left hand lock. If I slacken off it slips closed. Cable routing looks OK. Any thoughts?

It sounds like it has to be cable related to me.

Is it worth fitting a new pair of cables?

Just had a look at this. Cable is binding on the top side of the bottom yolk, the alloy is polished where it's rubbing. Is this the correct route as it's stressing the cable when on lock.

With only 8k on the clock I wouldn't have thought the cables would have been replaced and re-routed wrongly.
Cables do rub on other parts along their route, I would suggest you have over tightened the cables.

Taking up the slack on the open cable tightens the close cable. Loosen them a little on full left lock to see what happens.
