Number plate bulb
« on: March 06, 2018, 12:59:57 »
Hi really sill question how do u get to the number plate bulb to change it to a led bulb? It’s a 2015 1000? Is it bolts under the seat or is it just get a screwdriver under the lens to pop it out? Can't see it in the book.

Thanks

On the 650 the number plate bulb is accessed by two 10mm(?) bolts from under the rear mudguard

It should be easy to check. If there's two nuts in the rear of the mudguard behind the number plate light/rear reflector that'll be how you access it  :thumb:

A quick look at the parts listing on the likes of Fowlers is always handy - it shows 2 nuts on the back of the light as suggested already.

I changed mine for an led bulb last week. 2×10 mm bolts and then the rubber pad needs to be pulled out of the 10mm bolts holes fitted in like grommets to be able to get the wire through long enough to be able to get your fingers on it to pull out the rubber whitish bulb holder out. Mine was very awkward, once the bulb has been swapped its a bit of a bugger shoving it back in the holder. Bulb is a 501 capulate type. Good luck!
