« on: April 24, 2017, 17:50:46 »
sorry if this has been discussed before but I done a search and found nothing , when mounting engine bars on the engine mounting bolts , do you use thread lock or copper slip/grease and reduce the torque value
thanks

If you want to use something, it depends on the style of engine bars. The ones that use the large through bolts can benefit from anti seize and a 20% torque reduction as they are stainless steel lock nuts on stainless steel bolts with a high pressure connection and prone to galling. The 8mm shank frame hanger bolts can use medium thread lock as they have no locking properties and are not prone to galling.
