My K5 DL650
« on: January 30, 2017, 06:15:23 »
Bought new in 2005 and now at 96000km with the only issues the infamous headlight out issue caused by the switch block contacts failing. So relays and wiring bypass of the relevant switchblock headlight wires fixed that problem but have not had a problem with the start switch contacts.
Mods include: custom seat, Givi screen and crash bars, fork boots, Hagon rear shock, 4 pot calipers, fuel filter bypass, fully enclosed chaincase, Rox handlebar mounts, footrests raised by 50mm for scratching clearance.
My gearing is 16T countershaft and 45T rear for rather high gearing.
In the front forks helper springs have replaced the metal spacers and oil (ATF) amount reduced by 50ml in each leg to improve fork compliance.
Fuel consumption to date (Jan 2017) is 4.5l/100km or 62.74 imp mpg
