STATOR RECALL
« on: January 16, 2017, 15:20:36 »
After reading the forum I became aware of stator recalls, checked with main dealer CJ Ball Norwich, yes I have a recall, the main dealer says they do not have to drain the oil to carry out this task, reading the forum it is suggested they do, can anyone please tell me if they have to drain the oil.
Thank you.

It is specified in the recall protocol. Do we really need another thread on the subject?
Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. 2012 DL650A outlasted me.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 (K2-L2) DL1000s. Veek=2014+ (L4+) DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 (K4-L1) DL650s. Glee = 2012+ (L2+) DL650s

I think what GW was referring to was this topic,
http://www.v-strom.co.uk/smf/index.php?topic=31209.0
it discusses the oil change at length if you read on through the pages.

Basic answer is yes the Dealer is supposed to do the oil change as part of the recall
