Rusty bits.....
« on: January 08, 2017, 21:48:26 »
OK, have a 06 1000 and I have a couple of rusty bits on the rear subframe... nothing major but not going to get better. Also the Givi Rack and Engine bars have surface rust as well...

So what have you done to rectify this? I'm thinking of getting them blasted then Red Oxide primer then hamerite smooth to finish... what's your thoughts please.... TIA...

The bits that are easily removed I would have blasted and powder coated.

I concur: if you can get it off to blast it then it makes sense to powdercoat, especially if it's a part that gets spray/muck/wear etc. Far more resilient.
