Bar risers.
« on: December 08, 2016, 13:23:38 »
I'm thinking of trying a set of bar risers on my Veek. Been looking at the up and back from sw motech and the 2" rox risers anybody had any experience with fitting risers on the Veek. Which are the best to go for. I don't want the hassle of re-routing cables and hoses.

I've 25mm straight one's on mine and to be honest I'm not sure the brake line and clutch line could take any more, the brake was very tight but I've seen on a usa forum that you can move the lines back to behind the handle bars and top yoke to help, looks funny though.  I'm happy with the 25mm lift and   the footrest lowering plates.

From doing searches the only ones I can find listed for the Veek are from touratech and they are 25mm risers. They also state no alterations to the hoses or cables. I've seen the
USA stuff but some either remove the top yoke or even drop the forks down. Apparently someone over there does cable extentions as well. Seems like a lot of hassle.

Yeah it would be.  Mine are just sw-motech universal 25mm risers for 22mm (7/8) bars. Work a treat

Any chance of an image or two of them on your Bike.  These dark months might give me something to play with.

Great images, thanks.  I guess you can confirm Steve that all cables are OK ,and not restricted, or excessively 'taught'

yep, no binding or undue pulling.
I re-routed the electrical wires slightly and cable tied them into position.

Possibly the biggest influence was playing with the mirror block angle to ensure no undue strain at full lock. The stock mirrors adjusted from the new block angle easily enough and my replacement (Aprilia) mirrors had plenty of adjustment in reserve too.
There's always the choice of where to set the bars too - so, all in all, there's not too much brake line to spare but it's quite do-able.

Bike had done 15,000+ like this and nothing appears to have suffered
