Aftermarket accessories OEM or other?
« on: June 19, 2017, 14:55:51 »
Hi All

currently looking at getting a centre stand, side bars and probably a belly pan for my 2017 V-Strom 650 (is there a name for this yet?)
In an ideal world I'd buy the poem versions - though I notice the belly pan is not yet listed. However this is a pricey route. there are options on the centre stand - Cosmo seems to be popular - just wondering how much if anything one is losing on the quality side of things..?

Thanks Philip

I have recently fitted a Cosmo stand to my K6 Vee and was impressed with the quality and relative ease of fitment. The powder coating seems durable and is certainly better than the paint Suzuki use... There are several options for engine bars, most are better than the Suzuki items and are more protective. I have Heed bars on mine and they are made of 25mm tubing not 22mm like most others, very robust.
