Hello blokes,

After a little advice/opinions please.

Its time for me to change my change and sprockets, currently OEM and have seen about 22.5k miles (done well I think).
I would like to increase the front sprocket up a tooth, from 15 to 16, as I do about 2000 miles a month and its normally motorway/dual carriageways so thinking it would make it a bit nicer for cruising.

However I'm not sure that I can find a 16 tooth front sprocket that is dampened like the OEM one.
Normally I would pick JT sprockets and a DID Chain. Still will go for a DID Chain, and most likely a JT rear.

Any ideas if I can get a dampened 16 tooth sprocket, or any other suggestions would be great

The Suzuki GSX-R600 front sprocket is what you need. Part number  27510-20A10
It is a 16T rubber damped front sprocket that will bolt right on.
Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. 2012 DL650A outlasted me.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 (K2-L2) DL1000s. Veek=2014+ (L4+) DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 (K4-L1) DL650s. Glee = 2012+ (L2+) DL650s

And don't cut the chain until you undo the front sprocket nut.
They are torqued stupidly tight and threadlocked.

On the advice of my local bike mechanic I've fitted a JT chain (and sprockets) as the chain matches the build specs of a DID but is about 75% of the cost.

I have put larger front sprockets on the last two of my v stroms ..yes its a bugger to get the std sprocket off as the threads are lock tighten from the factory , however once fitted the bigger sprocket makes a big difference on the motorway and it also makes your speedo accurate instead of 5mph over estimated. .but...while this is a plus when riding solo I felt the bike to be over geared when you have a pillion & luggage , so if you only ride solo + luggage you,ll be fine . On another note I never found any difference in noise from the "non" cushioned sprocket I fitted & had no problems in over 10k..

M&p sell the dampened sproket now.just fitted them to mine front and rear.
