Glee Suspension Upgrade
« on: September 15, 2016, 09:54:48 »
Hi all,

I test rode a 4yo GSA recently and was amazed at how comfortable the ride was without sacrificing handling. Has anyone upgraded the suspension on their Glee to achieve the same result ie better ride comfort on our crappy potholed roads without sacrificing handling?

If you think that was good you want to try a GS with decent aftermarket shocks such as Ohlins or Wilbers. The ride of my 1100GS with Wilbers at both ends is like a magic carpet!

IMHO the poorest part of the bike is the stock suspension.
Many have fitted aftermarket fork springs with claimed improvements and a fork brace helps to improve handling (but not ride quality...)

I recently bought & fitted Ricor Intiminators to the otherwise stock forks which greatly improved the handling along with an improvement in Ride quality.
It still leaves a bit to be desired ride quality wise & the rear shock struggles to cope when pressing on, particularly on poorer road surfaces.
