Heed crash bars
« on: September 06, 2016, 08:34:56 »
Looking at a set of engine crash bars on eBay, the make is Heed and they are from Poland. They look OK but has anyone bought them and what are they like?

Loads of us have them. I have them, spot on for fit and quality. Never "tested" them ( yet ) so can't attest to strength.

I also have them fitted to my Vee and have been for over a year with no signs of rust etc. Easy to fit, look good and arrived in good time (within 5 days IIRC) but as Rusty says not "tested".

Excellent bit of kit. A good price but not sure of ability............and don't want to know but sure they'll play a big part.  :thumb:

Best looking protection bars IMHO, but I would say that.  :shy:
So how's it going so far then?

Unfortunately being 365 I have tested them
Came off on some ******* ice  :groan:

Fortunately the Heed's were fantastic, very strong when bolted to the engine guard
Bent the bars very slightly and bike was hardly damaged except for rear footpeg
So, yes, I would definitely recommend  :icon_wink:

They have a website as well as selling on ebay... check both out as one of the sites was cheaper than the other when I bought mine

Good Luck

Fitted them and sump guard to my Glee. Very impressed with fit and build quality, but have no intention of testing them.

Had HEED crashbars on my last two v stroms .easy to fit , very strong ..I dropped my last bike on a patch of oil on a ferry to greece . The bike was fully loaded with camping gear ect , and all it did was take a bit of paint off . I touched it up when I got home and you couldn't tell the bike had ever  been over . Definetly stronger than givi ones

These were fitted to my new-to-me Glee, anybody know if they are affected by vibration issues at all? The bike is not as smooth as I'd like and trying to work out what could be the cause.

I did not have any issues with vibration when I had the Heed combo fitted
Try taking them off and see if it makes any difference  :fix:

The original accessory bars caused vibes between 4-5k and it was unbearable  :bawl:

Hard acceleration will get you vibes as you up the revs but is par for the course AFAIK

Amazing, worth every penny. Saved the majority of my bike and my leg in a crash.  :thumb:
0 issues with them so far.
