F1 fault code
« on: September 12, 2016, 20:28:33 »
Evening all,

Just wondering if anyone can shed some light on a problem I encountered last friday. I was making my way from Newcastle to Inverness last friday night when a flashing F1 fault code appeared on my dash accompanied with a solid F1 red light light. The bike also put itself into 'limp' mode making it impossible to get above 60 mph. I must point out that the weather conditions were atrocious with gusting winds and torrential rain.

I stopped in a layby, turned the bike off via the key, waited a few seconds and fired her up. Fault code had cleared and the bike has been tickety boo ever since. The bike is a 2014 DL1000 abs.

Anyone had similar problems? Thanks.

You can ride the bike in dealer mode and the fault code will be displayed if it happens again.

A dealer with a Suzuki SDS computer tool can read stored codes. Anyone with a Suzuki motorcycle OBD tool from HealTech or a clone can read them too.
Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. 2012 DL650A outlasted me.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 (K2-L2) DL1000s. Veek=2014+ (L4+) DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 (K4-L1) DL650s. Glee = 2012+ (L2+) DL650s
