Givi Bar loose connector/shim noise and remedy?
« on: September 08, 2016, 18:31:04 »
I have Givi engine bars and have developed a resonance/metallic ringing noise tracked it down to a metal shim where the bars connect at the front of the oil cooler. The shim is loose and obviously vibrates at certain revs which is annoying, has anyone experienced this and how did they fix it? I read somewhere (can't find the post) that rubber washers inserted will stop it anyone know the size?

Take the bar off. There is a bolt on the back connecting the plate to the tube. They used to weld the tubes to the plates but they kept cracking.
Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. 2012 DL650A outlasted me.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 (K2-L2) DL1000s. Veek=2014+ (L4+) DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 (K4-L1) DL650s. Glee = 2012+ (L2+) DL650s
