Had the recall done but ??????
« on: August 01, 2016, 12:21:43 »
Hi all

Well I had the recall done at the Suzuki dealer
The two plugs under the air box done also the re routing of
Wiring harness and the replacement and re routing of the earth wire on my 2015 V Strom 1000 due to bike cutting out all the time

Guess what riding two up to Gloucester the
Other day and low and behold bike cuts out at low revs exactly the same problem again now it's back too dealer again I'm getting a bit fed up with these problems with this bike it's really a shame because I love the bike but it's really testing my patience now it might even change it its getting close

Has anyone had this issue after the recall your feedback would be greatly appreciated thanks

Did you get the ECU changed (which wasn't a recall - you have to ask for it specifically)?

Yes, your symptomps are ECU related. I had the same problem. New ECU (02) now, and haven't done recall yet. Bike is perfect now.

Ecu as above, that should fix it, and make the bike nicer too. :thumb:

Make a coffee, tea, large brandy and read that monster thread here re the ECU. All will be revealed and night will become day ! :)

There were, and still are, some really knowledgeable  folks here.  I bought mine suspecting it would have these issues as you described, the ECU business will resolve all.  Make sure your on the case of the service manager and get him to deal with Suzuki. Do not be 'fobbed' off.  I think its fair to say most dealers seem pretty OK with it.

No haven't had the ecu changed bike go's in tomorrow ...I mentioned this too the dealer low and behold again shasam ...they have never heard of it ....they will not do anything without a fight there's obviously a problem with this v strom model.... I had just the wiring changed under tank chaffing ...wiring connecter's that are not waterproof under air box ...and the earth wire changed re positioned .... there now trying to tell me that as I've had the second service carried out by an independent dealer  I've void the warranty on my bike ....which I replied the fault was there long before the second service was even due.... so that really makes there arguement irrellavent as the fault was there before plus they've done a recall for the fault too... they can play the warranty card and I'll play the incorrect fitting and completing of the recall work card

Wrong! See: https://www.Suzuki-gb.co.uk/ccr/customer-services-frequently-asked-questions/

Sounds like you need a dealer upgrade!  :thumb:

It does sound like the dealer is a little reluctant to get their arse in gear and sort out a paying customer, new dealer time maybe..
