Good riding routes in Wales?
« on: July 20, 2016, 05:03:08 »
I'd like to plan a couple of weekend rides over in Wales. Ideally scenic & winding roads, nice places to stop, visiting some reservoirs... that sort of stuff. Then a nice B&B before heading towards home.

I'd be travelling up from Somerset so the routes need to start/finish from the M4 bridge ideally.

Does anyone have any routes plans or GPS tracklogs.
If not then please recommend a road or a place to be incorporated.

Cheers. :)

Not sure about B&B in mid Wales but the road up the Cardigan coast towards Aberystwyth and the Elan Valley should be on your to do list. :lala:
Happy biking

I know the area round Bala well so these are from/to there.
Builth Wells to Bala is good.
There's an excellent B road from Bala to Ffestiniog - B4391. You can actually pick it south of Bala at Penybontfawr and ride up the Tanat Valley - superb scenery and roads all the way + minimum traffic.
Beddgelert to Caernarfon via the A4085 will take you right under Snowdon. Then head for Llanberis and go over the Llanberis Pass A4086.
That should give you some ideas.
