On a trip with full luggage set up last week I had put extra air in rear tyre but not stiffened preload with remote adjuster. Maximum 3 kgs in each pannier and just over, almost 4 kgs, in top box.
Had a bit of head shaking accelerating out of tight bends so tried to stiffen preload a bit to compensate.
At first wouldn't move but then moved smoothly but there were no clicks as I expected and couldn't see the shock body moving along the adjuster rings as the manual suggested it should.
I turned it a couple of full turns towards the + and this seemed to help a bit.
However now home I have been reading posts and suggested there should have been positive clicks on the adjuster and reading manual in my dry living room as opposed to rainy Highland lay by it seems to say you should see the spring compressing revealing more adjuster rings.
I would add that I made this adjustment with bike on centre stand and rear wheel in air, should I have done it on side stand with wheel on ground?
Sorry about the long winded explanation but my main question is should my shock remote adjuster have a positive click to show it has moved one place or should it turn smoothly? Worried that I have a faulty shock on an almost new bike. Thanks.
