Service plan - thoughts please.....
« on: June 05, 2016, 13:34:42 »
Afternoon all,
Have been thinking about this for my new 650. Includes parts and labour for 3 annual (4,000 7,500 and 11,000 mile) services.
Costs just shy of £500 which spread over the 36 months, works out at about £14/month.
Would be interested to hear if any other members have this and what people's thoughts are on the value of it.
Is it just a money making exercise or is £500 a reasonable amount to spend on 3 years service costs, bearing in mind that the book would then be stamped by an Authorised Dealer.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
String.

I thought the services are every 7,500 miles now? Makes sure the service plan reflects the actual service scheduled.

I think my 4,000 mile was around £180, the 7,500 was about £230 and the 11,000 was £180ish again from a main dealer.

Not sure about the intervals. When you ask for a quote it comes up with those mileages and 1, 2 or 3 years (I assume whichever comes first). Along with other items, spark plugs appear to be included in year 2 and an air filter in year 3.

Is there a task list for each of those services? What exactly is it that you're paying for?

This is what comes up when you get the quote.
