That's not too bad to be honest. Last Sept I was offered £5800 for mine, march 15 with 6000miles, against a tracer and a triumph dealer wouldn't even take it in part x!  I tried a private sale, not one call. that's why I've still got her, second hand money is not to good so I'll just ride it and get my money outa it. Only the Suzuki deal would give me what I thought the bike was worth,  £6500, but the only Suzuki's I like are the strom's.

I had an africa twin for a test ride for a couple of hours and is a really nice bike apart from the traction control. But for me the new strom was a better bike so I ordered one. Plus Honda wanted another £400 for a taller seat and no option to order it with the taller seat.

All in personal taste but for me the Africa Twin would be better for riders going off road more, the Vstrom I would guess is a better road bike. I cannot see the Parallel Twin being a superior unit to the V Twin. That being said I like the Parallel Twins and enjoyed my time with a Versys 650.

Doesn't the new AT have a 270 degree crank like tge old TRX/TDM making it fire & feel like a 90 degree V twin?

The Africa twin looks a good bike but the big thing that would put me off is the tubed tyres. Last year I was puncture free but the year before I'd three nails in my back tyre over the year. One was noticed a 100 mile from home and I just left it and rode on, you can't do that with a tubed tyre. Tubed may suit the round the world blokes but I'd prefer tubeless.
I've had two high speed punctures in my biking like, one with tubeless and other tubed, I only stayed on with one!

yeah the new Africa Twin has 270 degree crank same as TDM, S10, Bonnie America.

to be honest, I've always been a Honda fan (own 2 now) but the new AT doesn't do it for me. I liked the look of it before they launched it. But having a good nose around it and plonking the botty on one in the dealers, I'm now sure I won't be buying one.

They are marketing it as a true adventure bike for long way round. But in reality they will end up being used for the same long way to the coffee stop just like 99% of the Tiger XC and GS's sold.
It's basic dash and general no frills bars, body work and frame works for LWR and overland travel but won't suit my needs.
For me my next bike will end up being a nice low mileage Crosstourer when the early ones get to be around 6 years old. Or I'll eat my Traitors Corner hat and buy another Strom.
