Running without Suzuki op box

Hi, my Glee came equipped with Suzuki plastic panniers and topbox. I have removed the pannier mountings but the mount for the topbox appears to be a semi permanent plate screwed to the standard rack.
This mount has four rubber bungs pressed into it for the topbox to sit on but these bungs are otherwise quite loose but won't pull straight out.
Is it OK just to pull these upwards to remove them for safe keeping whilst riding without the luggage? I can't see what's keeping them in but don't want to break them or lose them if I leave them in.

If so they just pull out. Mine sit quite loose too.

Look very similar, I'll have a go at working them out then and store them in the top box until I go on my travels. Thanks.

I'm curious why you feel the desire to remove them: I ran around quite happily with the Givi plate complete with bungs on my Glee & do the same on Katie.

Hi Mr Nick, if they stay put when riding without the box I'm happy to do that'll. It's because they spin quite easily I assumed they may come out and get lost if not removed.

I wouldn't think about removing them as pulling out over and over will probably make them easier to come out, and they're cheap enough to replace if you ever need to... but if you want to, pull them out with some pliers
