Aye, quite lucky - though it was in the middle of nowhere on a Monday on a fairly open road. Didn't expect there to be no floor when I put my right for down. Derp

Had to get my mate to help me back up with that on. A little loaded up + shitty potholed gravel + glass wrists = no blushes spared.

Your mate sounds like a Dalek. :)
To be happy, I don't need private helicopters,a Florida house or a yacht. I'm fine with my motorcycle,a trip to a forest in Bavaria and some lunch money.

Holmsey, Nightrider is right we've all been there. Just in my case 3 times in my first six months of ownership  :groan:, luckily my big **ck off alloy panniers held her twice with a bit of scuffing on the hand guards. The other time a RAM mount on my engine bars took all the grief along with the hand guards/bar ends again. Take care mate because you know it's going to happen again at some point? Happy New Year  :obscene-drinkingchug:

One of the numerous (too many???) biker golden nuggets is:

There are two types of biker - those that have dropped their bike....... and those that haven't dropped their bike.........................YET!!!!

Needless to say.... I am the latter

The worst bit is the embarrassment,it's worst if there's someone watching at the time :groan:.A pair of barkbusters are on my shopping list.

Holmsey - regarding touch-up, my engine bars are a goldish-bronze colour. My son used to paint those Warhammer models a few years ago. I mixed up a pretty good colour match from a standard painting kit he had, dry-brushing it on. Good for small/awkward colour match jobs.

Thanks for that people .... I'll try the paint tip.

The damage isn't to bad ...  I just want to sort it before the rain has a chance to take.
