Uprated Spring for lowered Glee
« on: August 24, 2015, 22:25:47 »
I've my bike lowered 35mm at the rear and 18mm on the front, however the bike is quite wallowy, due to the lever effect of the dogbanes.  Is it possible to uprate the rear spring, or better still, where would I go to source one?

35mm at the rear sounds a big drop, especially if the fronts only been lowered 18mm.

35mm was what was quoted by the Honda dealer that did it.  I don't think the front can go much lower.  Stability is fine 2 up

The maximum the rear can be safely lowered is 28mm unless the shock travel is limited. For the best aerodynamics, the front should be lowered the same amount as the rear but the safe maximum on the front is 21mm unless the fork travel is limited.

The kit came with dogbones and what appeared to be a bushing to possibly restrict suspension.  I've asked the supplying dealer to confirm

That bushing does look like it is meant to limit shock travel. It would go around the shock shaft at the bottom between the lower clevis and the lower rubber bumper.
