end cans
« on: August 25, 2015, 17:24:32 »
If I were to fit an end can to my exhaust, say an arrow, does it affect performance or  just give a better sound? Are there any cans that are just for sound without affecting hp there by not incurring increased insurance premiums?

My insurer told me that there was no additional premium if the power gain was less than 5% extra.

Most likely gain is the weight reduction, followed by a throatier sound with any performance ie bhp / torque being minimal on a 650 engine.

The other consideration is that you will be improving the looks of the bike. The original one being fugly in my opinion.
Ride your bike until it hurts, then err...Ride it a bit more.
