Team

I'm looking to trade up from a Bandit 650S in the near future to a V Strom 650. Upper limit will be £4500. Any dos & donts I should know about?

Thanks

Look around and don't rush.  I just bought a low mileage 2011 in brilliant nick with loads of extras (useful ones like Suzuki panniers, tank cover and tank bag, Scottoiler, heated grips, mudguard extender and bash plate, new chain and sprockets and new tyres) for £3.5k - very pleased.

Keep an eye out in the For Sale section further down the index page.. There is a cracker in there at the minute for good money.

You'll be able to get a good used newer model for that price.

£4500 will definitely get you a great bike. I would decide on the colour you want and go from there.  It's also worth trying to get a bike with one of the Suzuki accessory packs fitted as these items can add up if bought separately.  Hand guards and a centre stand are a useful addition to the stock bike.

If you see a 2013-14 bike (which you might do in your price range), check first that the recall has been actioned (http://www.v-strom.co.uk/smf/index.php?topic=28271.0) unless you fancy the hassle of dealing with it yourself  :icon_wink: .

Incidentally, I paid £4,600 for mine with just 1,200 miles on it, a few useful extras fitted and 3 months warranty from the trader - you should get a great example with your budget  :lala: .

There was a well priced beauty in the fs section recently.
