R & G Crash Protectors
« on: July 29, 2015, 18:09:18 »
Hi blokes, I want to remove the R&G bungs (which will be in the for sale section soon) that came fitted by previous owner in favour of Heed Bars.
Trouble is that I didn't get the original bolts that are indicated by the arrow.

I ordered what I thought was the correct ones from Robinsons Foundry which came today but they are not the right bolts.
Anyone help me out with the part number or got them lying around their garage....or anyone want to buy the bungs and trade the bolts?
I have the original long one that goes all the way through so that's not a problem.
Its a K7 Vee GT.
Cheers

Why do you want to keep the bolts?

The crash bars should come with bolts anyway.

I want to take the bungs off and return back to standard. The bolts that come with the bungs are about an inch longer than the original ones in order to accommodate the mounts. I need the original ones because I want to fit Heed bars that are mounted to different bolts.

That's what I mean, the Heed bars are suplied with the standard fitting bolts so you should not have any need for any other bolts and you can sell these current bolts with the bungs.

Sorry if am not making sense but the bolts that I have the red arrow going to on the pic above are the ones that were supplied with the R&G bungs, they are about an inch longer than the standard ones which I don't have. The Heed bars, judging by the pics, look like they are mounted from

so once the bungs are removed I will need the original bolts to re fit
I understand that the Heed bars come with the required fixings but these are for a different location?

Won't one of the stock bolts you're removing to fit the Heeds fit the bung space?

No they're a different size.
All sorted now took a trip to local dealer and ordered what I needed. £10 for 2 bolts. I hope they're hand delivered in a leather bound box for that price.

the thought had crossed my mind, but I have a habit of making a hash of these sort of things which usually ends up costing me lots more to sort!

I think he wants to sell the Bungs with the bolts one-touched V_Strom650.

The Heed bars fix to those two pairs of bolts above and to the rear of your bungs and Heed supply the longer bolts too.  :thumb:
So how's it going so far then?
