Help-suspension
« on: June 29, 2015, 16:13:57 »
Hi and sorry for another suspension question but off round Europe tomorrow night and can't seem to make a difference

Bike is DL650 2013

Returned all settings to factory.
Bike on centre stand measure axle to a fixed point = 390
Bike upright no weight measure axle to fixed point = 370
Put on all luggage, tent etc and fat old me measure axle to fixed point = 300

So cranked it up to five lines on rear shock bugger all difference still 300

Is it me

I cannot answer that for you, but the gurus that can will probably want to know what sort of sized Gentleman you are.

Ha good point

One is a diminutive 16 stone !!!!!

One pannier clothes one pannier few camping bits. Not much
Top box empty
Three man tent not to big, camping table, chair and bed - yes I am getting old. My K75s can eat this much weight alive and still zoom.

Travelled with my wife and luggage on max on the pre-load on our Glee and it seemed OK, and we weigh at least 330lbs.

I could have this wrong but the adjuster on the bike simply pre-tensions the spring, it doesn't shorten the suspension unit by adjustment, only the load (or lack of it).

Hope that's right, if only a bit.......... :shy:

So how's it going so far then?
