Glee Questions
« on: June 04, 2015, 23:03:21 »
Hi,  I'm new to Glee ownership & I just have a few Questions.

1: Heated grips switched power supply - I recall a post saying there is a switched accessory terminal, where is this? It doesn't look like there is a dedicated fuse, is it fused as part of another circuit?

2: Is there an unswitched live supply up front for my accessory socket without having to run a supply from the battery?

3: Twice today I have accidentally left the parking light on when putting the steering lock on, I'd like to disable them but without a wiring diagram, I'm a bit stuck. I take it it's just a supply from the ign switch to the circuit when the ign is left at 'P'

4: Tank bag - what do you use? both mine have magnetic 'wings' & the magnets are nowhere near the metal tank!

I think that's it for the mo, cheers in advance, Phil

The switched supplies are shown in this thread:

The connector in the front of the right-hand fairing, ie the aux socket one is protected by the ignition switch.

Tank bag - I like the Givi tanklock system ones, now on my second, the XS308. SW Motech also do a similar one, but the locking mechanism doesn't look as tidy to me.

Hi, thanks John.
The pics are not showing on my 'phone so will check on the laptop later.
So there are 2 connectors - 1 for aux & 1 for heated grips?
Which circuit are these supplies fused to?

Cheers, Phil

Aux socket is 10 amp ignition protected, so if you blow it the engine doesn't run and you get a CHEC IIRC, DAMHIK  :bawl:

I don't know which fuse protects the heated grips connector. You can buy the leads / connectors from Eastern Beaver to take an easy powered supply for both, or I know the connector for the heated grips is the same as the horn, and costs about £13 from a dealer.

No time to properly look over the electrical additions on the bike yet although it looks like I have a suitable tank bag sorted :)
While I'm waition on the Haynes to arrive, anyone know of an online workshop manual or at least wiring diagram for the glee?

Cheers Phil

OK, bit of an update.
The Haynes arrived today so it gave me chance to scrutinise the actual wiring vs the Haynes.
It seems Suzuki use an odd method of wiring (well,it seems odd to me!)
It looks like the most suitable tapping point is the orange wire for the horn, it's a switched live & doesn't appear to be on a fused circuit other than the 30a main fuse. Ideal for heated grips as long as they have a suitable fuse.
