Hello Paul  :welcome:

If you haven't had problems keeping up or anything (and assuming you aren't going two-up) then the only thing might be the social pressure if they are snobbish about having GS's.

They might want you to get a new 650 so they can rely on someone to pick up spares on your travels! ;-)

+1 and older GS1200 is a frightening mechanical proposition...

Peer pressure, it can only end in tears. Get the 650 and show them what it can do.

Look to Fleetwood Mac for some inspiration and Go your own way. Fleets of GS1200s just look like an accountants day out, I know I shouldn't, but I do.

get a strom please. I don't want to lose a brother to that haughty gs crew.  A new set of tyres on a four year old or less 650 and like someone said before.... you'll be all over the place getting spares for them :fix:

get the V-Strom- it'll get you there and back with a smile on your face without intervention from the RAC.
but it is polite to stop and wait for the RAC with your GS owning mate when the time comes.  :stirpot:
