Help needed
« on: October 22, 2014, 20:09:47 »
I first noticed something different 3 outings ago on my DL1000 K7 GT when I set of from cold engine seemed to struggle a little bit lumpy etc but after a while it disappeared.
Next time a little worse then on Sat went out for a short ride it was misfiring quite badly and stalled a few times and never got any better.
I noticed some drips of petrol from under the tank onto the engine and floor so decided to investigate.
The vacuum pipe and split and disconnected so
1. Probably the reason the Scott oiler not working

2. I thought might be the cause of the poor running if the ECU was getting false info ?

I put a  new temporary pipe on but problem still exists ????

Anyone got any ideas what I can easily check ?

Before I'm forced to go to a motorcycle rip of merchant

Any help gratefully received

Look for other sources of vacuum leaks too. That split hose you mention is one example. If you spray some WD40 around the throttle body area and the exhaust suddenly gets smoky, there is a vacuum leak where you last sprayed. Sometimes the caps on the intake vacuum ports used for throttle body synching deteriorate and cause vacuum leaks for example.
