noise / vibrations
« on: September 23, 2014, 19:19:40 »
I have a DL1000 K7 GT its done 40250 miles and is generally in excellent condition with full dealer service history.
around 3000 to 3500 revs I have vibrations and some noise its OK before and after

Is this normal ?

Does anyone have the same bike that lives near me so I can compare ?

All advice gratefully received

It dives a bit under braking and the top box needs moving further back for the pillion and maybe a larger screen apart from that its perfect !

I do love the bike I have only just had it but managed trips out to the pub / Matlock bath and Skeggy

HOW SAD AM I !!!

Used to have a CBR 1000 but much prefer this I have ridden BMW RT / Harleys / Suzuki B king / and my 1968 Triumph T120 Bonneville .

Hope to get some feedback

thanks in anticipation :text-imnewhere:

I'm not a million miles away just to the south of Doncaster, happy to meet up.

Your more than welcome to have spin on the Navigator it has the same basic engine as the DL1000. I should have the gear position indicator, updated TRE fitted soon, try 'em both together.

To be happy, I don't need private helicopters,a Florida house or a yacht. I'm fine with my motorcycle,a trip to a forest in Bavaria and some lunch money.

Sounds like the 1000s infamous clutch chudder. Do a search on here, if it is that the good news is it's fully curable.

In fact it has its own section viewforum.php?f=96

It's not cheap, but it's for good reason. The work he does is tried and tested and provides you with a lasting solution that leaves you with a clutch that is better than new. It's also worth mentioning that's it's been done in any future ad you may employ to sell the bike.

Hi,

I got John to do my Strom clutch basket two weeks ago. What a difference. If you enjoy riding the bike with the vibration from 3-4k revs, you'll love it after John has done the basket and it's vibration free. I stripped mine down, sent the basket off on the Monday morning, and it was done and back with me on the Friday lunchtime. Superb service. I was very dubious about stripping it down so my son in law helped me and it was done within an hour and a half. Follow Johns instructions and it's easier than it looks and sounds. You will need a torque wrench and a clutch holding tool.

If you intend keeping the bike, get it done.

Thank you very much for the feedback wish you were closer as it would be great to see the difference

Have a word with Fat Rat, he's done a few. He'll give you an idea of what's involved.
