motorcycle racing
« on: July 30, 2014, 22:11:54 »
I'm looking for some bike racing on the weekend of 16th and 17th August that my dad and I can ride to and camp. It needs to be within a three hour ride from Oxford. Any suggestions? Hopefully I've inherited all of his useful genes: he's 75 and rides a CBF1000, and he's got more points on his licence than me....

its a shame it's not the weekend before you could have gone to Donnington, your dad would have loved this   http://www.crmc.co.uk

It does seem you've picked a rather empty weekend for road racing- probably because most club racers will be getting ready for the Manx. There's a fait bit of off-road stuff on though, maybe you could find a classic scramble or trial? You can check out the ACU events calendar which is here, also check out the AMCA one too

Thanks very much for the replies. Will peruse the ACU calendar, particularly the off-road stuff. Doesn't really matter what we see really, it's just nice to be able to go camping with my old man once a year. (Separate tents, though, I can hear his snoring even though I'm usually 15 feet away!)

Something has clearly gone wrong in my life though - he's 75, has more points on his licence than me and rides a faster, heavier bike! (CBF1000).
