Cymarc footpeg lowering kit
« on: August 27, 2014, 15:42:10 »
Folks

I am thinking of purchasing the kit as I do get a leg ache when I have spent time in the saddle (4 hours being the longest).

Being 6 foot will the kit help or is it just old age  :old: , Any input from anyone who has fitted them and did you notice the difference?

Thanks  :thumb:

I can't comment directly on the Cymarc kit, as I have the Cosmo version but they do the same job. As a bone-fide long person I can say with confidence that foot peg lowering does make a positive difference on knee comfort. Just be aware that if you like to swing your bike around bends in a vigorous manner then it is more likely that you will experience toe-to-floor contact. It scared the living daylights out of me first time it happened but now I'm ready for it and move my feet on the pegs on the rare occasions I give it 'what for'.

Cheers Paul ..... I'm not a vigorous swinger    so that won't affect my riding style, thanks for the input  :thumb:

I got a Cymarc kit off the kids for dads day, it does help but I would have prefared the other type I saw that also move the pegs forward a little as well as down. the only problem I had was freeing the brake light cable so that it wasn't shining all the time, just needed to keep wiggeling it a while

What is the other one you were looking at ?

Cymarc drops by 25mm and moves forward by 5mm. what difference does the other one make in relation to Cymarc?.

I found the same problem as TallPaul, I touched my toes down 7 times more often on the first ride than I had in the previous 9 years. It doesn't happen now as I appear to have repositioned my foot to avoid it.

I fully intend on buying a set of these when I next get paid. Not wanting to hijack the thread here but the Cymarc website shows 2 options and the only difference I see is the colour. Does this mean the kits are universal for both Wee and Glee?

I had an email from cymarc saying that it will fit the glee .... didn't ask about the wee.

6ft  tall, 54 year old knees, glee. Cymarc kit works for me. Down and forward.  Not much, but enough. As mentioned by 2112 the csk  screws that face outwards were a tad too short to grip the nylon in the nylocs,  so like him I put longer ones on, fitted with dome nuts and blue loctite.

The "short bolts" issue was sorted out by Cymanrc and is no longer an issue.
I am very pleased with mine.
This doesn't last forever, so do it while you can.
