Glee 2013 Aux Connector
« on: March 04, 2014, 12:55:27 »
I'm looking at fitting my Sat Nav to my bike. I need a power source. I can see the Aux Connector to the right of the bars under the RH fairing. To make a neat job I want to get the connector that fits into that so I can power my Sat Nav (it only draws 1amp).

I've also found the Heated Grips Connector behind the LHS of the radiator. I don't mind which side I use.

Does anybody have a source/Pt/No for either connector in the UK.

I have done a search and seen the link to Eastern Beaver. Has anybody used them and if you did how much did it cost and how long was delivery.

Heated grip plug is ignition switched, my preference for doing it, and details of the horn lead, which fits is here:

I use that to power my PD oiler as I have the Eastern Beaver 3CS kit for the other bits.

Soapy, which power connection does your satnav use?

Juvecu, I want to use my TomTom GO 530 that I normally use in my car. I've seen waterproof cases and mounts on Ebay but need to suss out a power supply for it and thought I could use either of the two connectors at the front of the bike. The GO 530 uses a mini usb and runs on 5V. The plan was to utilise the Aux Connector under the RHS, then solder or splice in a power lead for the GO 530 off the internet.

zimcruza, I'm going to order a Heated Grip Adapter and an Accessory Adapter from Eastern Beaver. If you want I will add anything you might like to order to hopefully save on the postage costs. Obviously I would have to post them on to you. They state delivery up to 10 days after they have made them up.
I work away from home two weeks at a time (I go away again next Monday) so posting on would have to wait till I get home.

I've no idea how reliable they are but they are mentioned on a couple of Forums.
