following my previous note about brake pads and the shreiking / groaning noise at low speed.
I cleaned the brakes with aerosol cleaner and this seemed to get rid of the noise - but a quick ride out the other night showed it was back, albeit much reduced.
I nearly went out and got some more pads, but thought I'd inspect the fitted ones first - removing the pads and cleaning up the calipers / pads etc.
here's what I saw:
OK - not great photos on my phone, but they don't look exactly "worn out" to me - do they?
by my eye, with my metal ruler, there is just shy of 4mm on the pads - uniform across the pad. Probably around 3.8mm if my eye works OK!
They are original pads - made by Tokico if you remove the stainless steel heat shrinks.
Not much copper grease on them - should there be more? any tips for ensuring the brakes are put back together in tip-top shape (or at least "as good as it gets"!)
