Bearings for rear suspension linkage.
« on: August 29, 2013, 17:46:10 »
Hello all.

I've just dismantled the rear suspension linkage on my K3 DL1000 and found some seriously knackered bearings. Got quote from Suzuki who want £170 for the set with spacers (6 bearings 4 spacers).  Don't see a way around buying spacers from them but am looking at bearings on e bay for one third the Suzuki price.

Problem.  Suzuki have two different part numbers for two bearings that have identical measurements.  The four bearings that connect the two connecting rods between the swing arm and the bottom assembly, and the single one that connects to the bottom of the shock from the bottom assembly all have the same dimensions but a different part number.

Any insight most gratefully received.
You'd be surprised what you can get home on a V Strom ;-)

Just take the bearings to a good local bearing shop and they should sell you what you need for a fraction of the cost .

I get these bearings from http://www.marksman-ind.com and I've heard others get them from Wemoto.

How much are those spacers costing?

Hi Juvecu

The spacers are about £40. I've ordered them from Suzuki but the bearings from e bay, bearingseller. £7 instead of £20.

SKF probably make the best bearings and will have some to fit.

Thanks BruceJ :thumb: I was considering finding someone to make me some stainless steel spacers, but at that price I might as well buy them off Suzuki.

http://www.derbybearings.co.uk/

give these blokes a call they will give you a quote and have them with you in next day if they're in stock.

I got my rear wheel hub and sprocket carrier bearings from them for about £20 for all 3
