Fairing mounted wind deflectors?
« on: July 02, 2013, 10:56:33 »
Hi Folks. I have 3 holes drilled on each side of the front fairing that are covered with rubber grommets. Didn't realise they shouldn't be there until I was looking at a new Glee yesterday. I can only assume they are for fairing mounted wind deflectors. I've had a trawl on Google and the only reference I can find is on Stromtroopers but I can't find the relevant page for some reason. Anyone come across these? Is there even such a thing? I suspect they are fairly common in the States so perhaps Greywolf will know something.
The Grommets don't bother me but if there is some super deflectors out there I may be interested seeing as the 1st owner of my Glee has already drilled the fairing!

I would say auxiliary lights or after market indicators. Never heard of wind deflectors yet though
I'm sane, honestly. . . I got a certificate to prove it!

They're not on the outside of the fairing but on the bit below the clocks running back towards the tank. Pretty much in line with the mounting screws on each side. I suppose it could have been brackets for aux lighting but it has crash bars so why would you. The position would be useless for indicators. I*'ll take a pic and try and post it. Have written to the first owner and asked the question - hopefully he'll be decent enough to reply.

They are for wind deflectors! The 1st owner was decent enough to phone and explained what they were - and is sending them to me.What a Gent! Also had a good chat about my Bike and what he thought of it, did on it etc. I'll post a pic when they arrive and I've tried them - who knows - could start a trend!
