Eastern Beaver Fuse Blocks - In the UK?
« on: June 26, 2013, 13:45:46 »
Does anyone know if you can get the Eastern Beaver Fuse Blocks through a UK supplier (to avoid horrendous shipping and import taxes)?

Ideally I am looking for this one (or the 6 way). "Eastern Beaver PC-8 Fuse Panel"

Nope, but there are alternatives out there on Ebay and do a general search for auto and boat fuse boxes.  It's an easy thing to make yourself.

NB The import cost is only about £13, the trick is to declare it before you purchase.  It's much more expensive if it gets caught in customs as an undeclared item (c£35).  Be aware he also sods off for a month in summer (check his site for details) so get your order in early.

I once bought some connectors for my Tiger through EB as I couldn't find them in the UK. Shipping was quite expensive and there is a minimum order quantity - I didn't have any problems with customs etc though.

I've now found alternative sources for connectors eg http://www.polevolt.co.uk/acatalog/shop.html who have a great range of stuff and reasonable shipping charges. I always used to use Vehicle Wiring Products but their connectors aren't too great. Fine for bullets and the like though.

Why not try the local auto electrical workshops. We have one who is very helpful. It doesn't hurt to ask.  :)

Was the Eastern Beaver order enough to exceed the minimum? If the order doesn't meet the required $20 USD minimum, the shipping fees get outrageous. It's the only way the software allows Jim to prevent under minimum orders.

Sorry. Of course a fuse panel would exceed the minimum.

Absolutely, that's what I was after. Unfortunately I'm not forking out that sort of moolah for a fuse block.

I have one of these 6 way Blue-Sea Auxiliary Fuse Panels. Have the one on the right because I wanted an negative rail in the box. I didn't pay that kind of money for it, bought it from eBay I think.

It is very neat, but I like the 3CS better as it's easier to put where you want it.

I might have one of the fuse blocks not in use, but need to check the garage first.
