Can highly recommend the lowering kit that GW linked to... was out on a run today and can't begin to say how much more I'm enjoying the bike since I lowered the pegs. Obviously the comfort is better, but I also find my control over the bike is improved because I can shift my weight on the pegs more easily and the rear brake control feels more natural. With the pegs lowered and the bars raised (20mm), the bike feel like it's made to measure for me now, vast improvement!

Great post..... I'm sold. Quick question, are you using a standard seat or the taller seat?

If you're a 6-footer+ then you won't regret it! I'm just using the standard seat... I'm quite long in the body and so would have to do a big handlebar rise to be comfortable with a taller seat I think. The combination of the 20mm bar risers I've got and the lowering pegs means that it now feels like I'm sitting in the bike rather than perched on top of it, if that makes sense.

As GW says, the only slightly troublesome thing about fitting the pegs is the brake light switch cable... but after a bit of fiddling around with it, I managed to pull enough slack that it worked out OK. Other than that, if you've got decent tools it's pretty straightforward. I didn't have decent tools so had a little trouble getting some of the stock bolts and pins and things off... but got there in the end!

I find the Glee roomy enough on standard pegs, like a reclining armchair.. I come from sportsbikes though, and still ride one, so feel free to ignore me..

I agree with you about feeling slightly cramped in the saddle but am a bit aprehensive about tampering with the bike, was wondering if you do go ahead with lowering the pegs if I could call over and do it together(promise not to become an annoying neighbour)

Thanks for that (just ordered a set).... did you have to make any alterations to the side or centre stand?

No alterations to the sidestand, I don't have a centrestand so couldn't tell you about that... but the kit made no mention of alterations needed to the centrestand, and I haven't heard anyone else say that it's needed either. So I'm guessing you'll be fine without altering stands.

Neither stand poses any problems.
Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. 2012 DL650A outlasted me.

I'm 87 and have the lowered seat. I feel comfortable on this bike and the ergo tool supports this :)

BTW,

The official terminology for the bodily part between the balls and arse is called "biffins bridge".
Don't ask...... lol

I have an angle of 100 on the Vee....it'll be a little different though in real life as that's with the stock seat & not the Corbin. I only lowered the bike after getting the Corbin as its width meant I couldn't reach the ground with my short 29" legs - no problem on the stock Vee seat.

On a stock Wee I'd get 94 & on the Glee 92...

Hmmm, interesting website that ergo. According to said site I'm at 86 degrees with the Guzzi but that doesn't take account of the -15mm SW Motech pegs. I must be close to 90 degrees with them, bloody comfy mind  :thumb:
It's pronounced 'twenty-one-twelve'

I fitted the Adventure Tech Foot Peg and Control Lowering Kit what a stunning difference, I can't recommend it enough.

Nice, isn't it. I've tried other solutions before but it's the only one that really works. The feet go down and slightly forward, which I've had before, but the relationship to the shifter and brake stays perfect. That's something I couldn't say about any other remedy. It's adding years to my ability to ride.

That's completely true, unless you manage to spin the linkage round the first time you put it back together and then the gears are reversed  :shy:

 lol
